Dr Olivarius comments on New York Times report of women suing Yale fraternities

Speaking about a recent New York Times article covering the Yale women suing the university’s fraternities, Dr Olivarius said:

“I experienced this same kind of culture as an undergraduate forty years ago (see Alexander v. Yale), and have represented undergraduates and graduate students against Yale (and other universities) because sexism continues to distort and thwart the educations available to women and men.  Yale has made some improvements, but always in response to pressure, defensively.   With all its resources and fantastic minds, why doesn’t Yale take a leadership role in fighting sexual harassment and violence in higher education?”
